Ferry To St. Brendans from Burnside, Bonavista Bay, NL
Step back in time and experience the Old World Charm of St. Brendan’s. Originally known as Shoal Bay, St. Brendan’s was eventually named for a legendary Irish explorer. St. Brendan’s is located on Cottel’s Island, accessible by a 45 minute ferry ride which departs from the wharf in Burnside several times a day. This boat tour provides a wonderful opportunity to view the pristine waters and coastlines of Bonavista Bay. While visiting the island, arrangements may be made with local residents to see Newfoundland ponies. St. Brendan’s is a great place to pass away an afternoon by picnicking and exploring this lovely island.
